Panacea’s History
Panacea’s name and inspiration was derived from the Greek Goddess, Panacea – the deity of universal remedy and healing. In Greek mythology, Panacea was believed to have a potion that would cure all diseases and promote health and wellness. The second sentence might be unnecessary. I know I have it currently but it seems not really necessary. What do you think?
Massage therapy affects more than just muscles – it is a form of therapy to heal the body, mind, and soul.
Panacea’s Approach
Just as Panacea symbolized hope and restoration in Greek mythology, our practice aims to be a source of healing and rejuvenation for our clients. We’ll blend various holistic and therapeutic approaches to give you a customized massage to address your aches, pains, and health goals.
Our goal is to offer a comprehensive, nurturing experience that helps heal the body, mind, and spirit – much like the all-encompassing cure that Panacea represented in ancient times.
You will notice we don’t have various prices for the different types of massages offered. That’s because we believe no modality is superior to the other. Depending on your specific concerns, we may integrate various massage techniques into one massage to ensure you get the relief you’re seeking.
We’re committed to helping you find your own path to wellness. One that serves as healing for specific health concerns and needs. Massage therapy affects more than just muscles – it is a form of therapy to heal the body, mind, and soul.
Meet Janet, LMT, CMMP, CLT
SC License #4381 Establishment License #576
As a former day spa massage therapist, Janet found it difficult to fully serve her clients with the care and attention they deserved. She wanted to help her clients find the root cause of their chronic pain and help them create a customized solution to find relief, healing, and real solutions.
When Janet opened Panacea Therapeutic Bodywork in 2008, she sought to recreate the relaxing spa environment while providing the attention they needed to get to the root of their issues.
This is why she’s partnered with primary care physicians, chiropractors, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists to help them provide sustainable relief for their patients through the healing power of massage therapy.
Janet’s collaborative approach provides an all-encompassing, holistic, and tailored experience to help you heal. From chronic headaches to quadriplegia, she’s worked with health providers to help enhance the healing process for their patients.
She believes that massage therapy is just the beginning of healing. Janet empowers her clients by giving them the knowledge to self-treat at home. It’s her goal that once sustained relief has been achieved inside the massage room, you are able to relieve your chronic pain at home and only feed the need to return for “tune-ups”.
Voices of Healing
“Janet does an amazing job. I've had headaches as well as some mobility issues that stem from tightness between my shoulder blades. I leave there feeling great without the pounding headaches. She listens to what you need done, and just doesn't go through "standard" routine. Amazing experience every single time I've been (over a dozen)” - Anonymous
“I've been a longtime client of Janet for years. She has a tremendous amount of knowledge and compassion for what she does. My only complaint is her calendar is always full, and she books up fast, so you gotta be quick. We don’t have enough cultured, kind, encouraging, and morally decent people like her. She has helped me, in so many ways. I can't thank her enough.” - T. McFadden
“This Lady is AMAZING! I'm a bigger guy with a lot of back issues from the Military and she not only knows Massage but understands the skeletal muscles and is extremely knowledgeable! Highly recommend her to anyone!” - Chris
